I saw her from across the bar. My bar. My city. Everything in that world belonged to me. She stood out from the crowd like she was looking for someone to blame for her pain. That night, I felt the depths of my mistakes. I felt my scars. With a single glance, I knew her touch would take it all away. I craved it more than anything. I knew she would be a tempting, beautiful mistake. One I would make again and again... even if it cost me everything.

I looked down the side of the building. Should I do this? I thought stepping a little farther towards safety. What have I got to lose? No one loves me, I should just stop being a waste of air. I stepped to the very edge of the building. Come on. I couldn't bring myself to just step off. My heart raced, my hair was drenched with sweat. Just do it. I stepped off, sending myself hurtling towards the pavement.

*Sequel to Free Fall* May contain spoilers. I winced at the tight grip on my wrist. He was pressing my arm into my back and simultaneously using his weight to shove me into the brick wall. "Let go," I winced through clenched teeth. I heard a 'Tch' practically next to my ear. "Last I checked sweet cheeks, I'm the one that has you pinned." He adjusted his weight slightly, so he was less likely to break my arm at least. "Care to explain why you were about to attack a hero?" He sarcastically muttered in my ear. "Are you a villain now?!"

All I could hear was the frantic thrumming of my heartbeat against my chest. The alarm sirens were a light humming in the background. My limbs were shaking from exhaustion, including the extra limbs protruding from my back. My breath came out rapidly but, I couldn't seem to get enough oxygen to my lungs. My eyes burned from the force of the air whipping past them. " No Razor! You can't stop, I'm right behind you. Keep going!" I heard a familiar voice say that seemed close but, distant. Following the voices orders I pushed my body to go faster and to ignore the pain of exaustion. "There she is!"
