Melanie Freeman is a girl with everything figured out. She's had her whole future planned from the moment she was born. Quiet, and shy she's always been very sheltered content to live through books. One day Melanie meets a Logan, a boy just like her, shy and forgotten by the rest of the world. Carter Freeman is wild, reckless, and utterly irresponsible- she's also Melanie's other personality. Melanie has Multiple Personality Disorder, causing her to switch between her and Carter constantly over her life. For the past few years though Carter hasn't made an appearance and Melanie finally thinks she's safe, until Logan says something that triggers Carter's return- and this time she has no intention of disappearing.
