I guess I can say I don't trust people. It's not really about the other people, its me. I'm protecting both myself, and them. Why would anyone want to be friends with a girl who's mother committed suicide causing her only daughter to be sent into foster care. A girl who has screwed up every foster home she's been sent to over the past year. A girl who doesn't feel like she's worth anything. She pushed everyone away so she could never be hurt, and so she could never hurt anyone ever again...

Yet Alec was different. He pressed forward, not caring about her walls or anything. He doesn't run away when she yells at him, and tells him that she could never love him. That she couldn't ever love anyone. Alec still loves her, still cares about her. Even though he's made clear his feelings for me, and been rejected harshly, he still want's to be my friend.

I don't want to hurt him...
