Ashkit is a young Moonclan kit and is determined to be the best warrior ever. But an attack and kidnapping of her from Duskclan spoils her dreams of being a Moonclan apprentice. At camp she befriends a young kit, Stonekit. One night she dreams of a prophecy that is neither good nor bad, but one thing she does know is she's gotta get back to Moonclan, and Stonekit won't let her go without him. So the two friend set out on an adventure that will change their lives.
