Erik Destler, the disfigured musical genius, was living in unimaginable conditions as part of an act in a freak show.  Sylvie Coopré, a shy girl, is different from her peers because of her natural sense of kindness and acceptance.  One fateful night, the unlikely pair are brought together by fate, yet fate also separates them.  Years later, an embarrassed and emotionally unstable Erik flees to New York in hopes of starting over.  Coincidentally, Sylvie is also living in New York.  Facing past loves, tragedy, and death, Sylvie and Erik will need to learn to realize that there is no day but today.
