Maya and Tiana are sisters in a futuristic America where magic is all but uncommon and creativity is banned. Tiana is a gorgeous dance freak who is destined to be famous, but most of all, she loves her sister Maya. Maya is all about magic. She attends the local school in New York where she developed a huge crush on a young, rich mage, Caden.

Slowly but surely, Maya's increased love for Caden is pulling her farther and farther away from the one person she can't live without, her sister Tiana. One day, the government, led by Madeline Smith sends in soldiers to eliminate the population of New York when Maya is out on a date. She comes home the following morning to find her house destroyed and two charred bodies on the floor. One belonged to her mother, Alissa and the other to her father, Brian. Tiana's body is nowhere to be found.

Maya moves on. She adapts to her new life in Canada, studying magic with her boyfriend Caden, but she can never stop thinking about her sister. Tiana however, never fully moves on, though she has found a new love, became a famous clothing model and continues to dance. Both are living their dream lives with the loves of their lives, but somehow that is not enough. They want one more thing that they have always taken for granted; their sister by their side.

The two sisters are led to each other by a poster in Tia's room that she drew from a vision she had. Tia entitled the poster, "The Children of America: We are the Future" and it depicted two girls in a broken world holding hands in the desert. It is up to them, as the last children of America to stop the government and bring creativity back. Do they have what it takes...
