At the young age of seven, Isla Marshall lost her mother. After spending 22 months in and out of the Beacon Hills Hospital, Isla lost the lady she loved the most. At the hospital, she met a boy names Stiles. He had been going through the same thing as Isla, his mother was also battling a deadly illness. They became fast friends along with Scott McCall who was the son of one of the nurses that cared for both Stiles and Isla's mothers, and he was Isla's neighbor.
Several years later they are still best friends and entering their freshman year at Beacon Hills High School. But Isla has noticed a change in her feelings for Stiles. She couldn't exactly name them, but they weren't just friends feelings anymore.
