Shaedows are beings that appear to be human. The only difference is that they are made of darkness and feed off the essence of humans.
They are the experts of stealth and trickery, they have been for hundreds of years, overcoming all that threatens to expose them. Including the Flaires.
Flaires are born every decade and have the potential to expose the entire Shaedow world to the humans with their bright inner light. They are born Shaedow but they have never been hard to kill before.
That is, until Jezebel was born. Her parents recognised her strange inner light immediately and sent her off with a trusted family friend for safe-keeping, fearing the fate of their only child.
Now Jez is 14, which means that the decade has passed and the Shaedows are now looking for two Flaires. Jez only has 3 wishes: to survive; to meet her family for the first time; and to find the other Flaire before the Shaedows do.
