Schuyler Hayes was an almost average girl. She lives with her mother until she was 11. Her father used to abuse her mother and her and beat them. He raped schuyler when she was 6 and beat her mom when she tried to stop him. They finally escaped and ran away from her abusive father when she was 9. Soon after they left when she was 11 her and her mom haVe a car accident and her mom is killed and she is left alone. Now she is a 16 year old  who goes to marina Highschool in small town Clearwater, Tennessee. Soon one day this new boy named Brantley Mullins comes to Schuyler's school. SHe finds him very attractive but dares not to fall for a man after what her father done. Soon after he arrives things around her seem to become what there not, her world is soon turned upside down when she finds out things she only ever believed in books are real.
