Alfred and Ivan come from two extremely different worlds. Ivan from a dirty, run down shack. Alfred from a beautiful white mansion. Neither are very happy with their lives, they both have so many different responsibilities. But once in a while, the two boys have some time to escape their lives and meet in the clearing in the woods near their homes. Miles may separate these two physically, but nothing can keep them apart. Or so they thought.
This is a tale of two boys who will do anything to be with each other. But how far are they really willing to go? How much are they willing to sacrifice? Only time will tell as these boys become men.
RusAme fluff in my own personal AU. I don't own 'Hetalia' or the characters, but I do own this story. It's fiction so anything related to actual events is merely coincidence. Thanks for reading.

Union's Brood
After the second American Civil War, the world changes drastically. A new nation stood where the United States once was, the Last Empire having fallen to its own people. Addicted to more chemicals than a lab rat, Alfred has a hard time keeping his head up- quite literally. It's not that he doesn't want to quit- believe me, he does!- it's just that the withdrawal is destroying him from the inside out. What makes it worse, is when he's placed into an arranged marriage as a landgrab, and then told about it just before it happened. Now he is wrestling with both his addiction, and someone he was supposed to marry in 1860! Ivan was an addict, once. He understood the pain of withdrawal. He wants to help, since there was nobody around to help him. The idea of joining the Union was one he hadn't even thought of before his boss had arranged the marriage with the dictatrix. Now, he was thrown into a world he didn't know, forced to interact with people he had never met, and be one of the first nations, the third most powerful, to join a mega-nation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Extra: Alfred is headcannoned as brown get over it. Is the clown the fool of the story, or are you? After all, the clown knows it's an act, but the audience is so lost in it that they tend to forget. Alfred had lived a long life. He'd learned a lot in it. That England was easy to gaslight if you knew what you were doing. France would back away from any show of force. Germany could ignore a bumbling idiot even as the evidence piled up just because he wasn't very good with people. Poland saw everything and read people like a book. Prussia would keep his mouth shut if you gave him enough liquor or made him obedient. Russia would turn a blind eye if you turned one to him. China never trusted anyone even if there was evidence of the contrary. France had lured in the oblivious boy at the previous world meeting, and the other three captured him so they could get whatever it was they wanted from Germany and Japan.
