Axis was never human. Tortured and mutated as a child, Axis was a powerful superhuman known as an "X-Gene" or "Susceptor". Ingraned with the instinct to eliminate human life, Axis escaped from the facility at age ten and began to murder humans left and right.
And then he met Petra. Petra was the human girl that he fell in love with the moment he stared into her eyes. But a human girl, with memories of bloodshed, can only be so accepting to a monster.
