It was supposed to be a fun family weekend for Steven and his wife and two children. Steven had spent a large majority of his time over the past 3 years pouring himself into his job. The only problem with that was he had neglected to spend time with his family. This had resulted in a marriage that was in a rough patch to say the least and two boys ages 11 and 14 that spent every waking hour behind the controller of a video game killing zombies or building virtual lives on a television screen or whatever other game was popular this week.

Steven had envisioned this nice weekend in the mountains of South Central Tennessee as a way to reconnect with his family. No electronics and no distractions. Just a weekend camping trip to begin the process of rebuilding his life with his family. Ever since his wife had given him the inspirational book on being a better man for their wedding anniversary 5 months before, Steven knew that he was on a crash course of loosing his family if he didn't change the way he was doing things. It was probably the handwritten note in the front cover from his wife that got his attention the most. Her beautiful handwriting simply stated "Please read this before it is to late". It was a simple book bound in a brown leather cover. Script gold leaf writing on the cover held the title of the book "How to reconnect with your family in 30 days". Till this very day, the title stung nearly as bad as the note from his wife.

This weekend was the first project listed in the book. It was the first step of many. Steven knew that if he didn't make big changes that his family was going to chose to live without him. Who was he kidding they already were living without him. He had to find a way to be wanted again. He had to find a way to be needed again. What he didn't know was that by the end of this weekend he would want his family more than ever before and that his family would need him even more.
