When the sickly King Aradane dies in his bed, the city of Skyhaven is thrown into chaos as a power vacuum threatens to tear it apart.
His daughter and only heir, Princess Ora Streylen, finds herself at the centre of the chaos, thrown into a pit of vipers and unable to trust even those closest to her.
To make matters worse, the ineffectual rule of her father has bred a rebellion deep within the very bowels of the city, who believe she is the key to their victory and hatch a plot to use her for their own devices.
Meanwhile, in the dead wastelands below, the reappearance of a terrifying monster from legend sets into motion events which threaten to overshadow the petty power squabbles of the city above, and could spell the end of the very world.
