Here's the thing I'm seventeen years old and I haven't found "The One" yet, and in my world that's really not good. See, in the future when a child turns eighteen they ascend. The Ascension has to be done with a teammate of sort, an equal; a soulmate.
They have to pass a series of tests, and if they don't have a partner or fail one of the seven heavenly tests, both partners don't ascend, and if you don't ascend you'll be forced to wander around the earth aimlessly for the rest of eternity.
All of my friends and family, everyone I love has ascended and it's just me and a bunch of other rejects down here so I'm going to find "The One" before I ascend which gives me about one month, because unfortunately I'm turning eighteen in one month which means I have twenty-one days to find my soulmate or die.
This is a story about how a girl and boy fall in love and blah blah blah. Not! I just want to get my wings, grab a latte, and catch up on game of thrones.
I don't need no test or boy messing up my life, but what's a girl to do?
