"Why me?" I've been asking myself this question for the past 5 years. Alexis Brown, now a Sophomore in high school, and starting a new school, again. Her parents divorced just a few months after she turned 10. Let's just say it wasn't pretty. She barely talks to her dad, she feels like a reject everywhere she goes. She's been bullied, abused, and trampled over. She has been in 3 abusive relationships, no friends, and never feels good enough. When she gets to her now 5th new school, she meets people that, help save her life. They become her best friends and she will never be able to repay them for how they've helped her. Then Ryder comes along. Alexis thinks she knows him, but from the start they hate each other. Is there more than Alexis sees? Will he be like the others? Or will he be just what she needs to trust men again?

I frowned pushing him away and crossing my arms like a little child. I heard him sigh and soon enough his huge arms wrapped around my neck, nose buried in the crook. "You can say 'Hey' I love your voice anyways." My face heated fast and I bit my lip hoping he doesn't notice. God if he only knew how much his words affected me.
