Internet Grrl (on hold)

My name is Mila. It's not an exciting name and I'm not an exciting person. I'm a sophomore in high school and the most exciting part of my day is when my energy reloads on the Kim Kardashian Game.

I'd hate to say it, but Grace ruined my life. She's a child, big bright eyes swimming with hopeful futures. You can see all the wonderful things that could've happened in her iris. Before her cancer, I was just Mila. Boring, unpopular and everything that I was used to for fifteen years. It was just me and Lorelei watching anime and gushing over Asher Clinton and ballerinas on YouTube. And suddenly everyone was bending over backwards to "comfort" me and hand me white flowers to deliver to Grace. Yes, because dollar store, flimsy bouquets will cure her. It's a nice thought anyways.

I know, most of the time I sound like a huge jerk bag. Truth is, I can't cope. My only outlet is Lorelei and Wyatt, but they suck at coping. Whenever we're sad, we end up hugging Grace and forcing her to watch a Disney movie with us. We make lots of popcorn and cuddle Maramiko to death. Nostalgia, I think. We like to believe she's little, not sick, and we're in middle school again.

Grace makes me cry everyday, just looking at her makes my bottom lip quiver. Her sickness was only the beginning of everything bad happening. It's the grey checkmark of my life falling apart. Grace and I used to fight about clothes and stealing each other's sandals. I would give up all the sandals in the world and anything else for everything to back to the way it once was.

I'm not a superhero. I'm Mila. I'm an internet freak and as much as a party as a bag of marbles. No matter what I do, I just can't save the day.
