Lucas, Riley, Maya, and Farkle have graduated from John Quincy-Adams Middle School.

They're now Sophmores in High School.
Things have changed since Middle School. Maya and Riley are still best friends, same with Lucas and Farkle.

Lucas is dating Missy Bradford and Riley still isn't over him. Missy hates Riley because she knows Riley likes Lucas. Maya keeps Riley safe and comforts her all the time, but when a text message is sent to the wrong person at Missy's 16th birthday party, things begin to change.
