Manon Wilson's mother is battling cancer. Manon is battling colleges. Manon spends most of her days with her mother, working on school applications. Nothing seems to be going right in her point of view. Her dad is never home, her little sister refuses to see their mom, and Manon isn't getting accepted into any colleges. A boy, who's mother is the leader of Manon's moms support group, tries to change Manon's perspective on everything. She works in a bookstore and as an library assistant to make money so she can take care of herself, 'cause her dad would waste all the money he makes on alcohol. Her life has no meaning, she has nothing, she's all alone and has no one to go to. But what happens when Chris wakes up hungover on Rhea's couch? Will their everyday life still be the same?
