  Die Hawking Highschool bietet alles was ein Teenagerherz begehrt. Von Tussis, Badboys und Cheerleadern zu Nerds, Strebern und Schleimern. Kein Wunder, dass es Leute gibt die aus der Reihe tanzen, und kein Wunder dass es andere Leute gibt, die sich einen Spaß daraus machen, diese bloßzustellen. Seit einigen Monaten, erreicht die Schule jeden Montag eine neue Ausgabe eines Magazins. Der Autor ist unbekannt, die Namen in den Schlagzeilen nicht. „real rumors" weiß alles. Wen die Schulschlampe auf der letzten Party mit nachhause genommen hat, welche Basketballspieler knutschend in der  Turnhalle erwischt wurden und wieso die Frühlingsgala aus heiterem Himmel abgeblasen wurde. Geredet, wird auch von einem Real Rumors Redaktionsclub. Die Mitglieder? Geheim. Die Regeln? Streng.
  
  Mariella Hutton ist 17 Jahre alt und ihr größtes Hobby ist das Modedesign.  Leider fehlt ihr das Geld um ihre Ideen und besonders das Herzstück ihrer Kollektion umzusetzen und so feilt sie, in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrer besten Freundin Nisha einen Plan aus, um an eine Aufnahmestory für den Real Rumors Membership zu kommen, denn bekanntlich springt für jedes Mitglied eine ordentliche Bezahlung raus. Jedoch scheitert ihr Plan und sie bekommt nicht ihre gewollte Story. Dafür, eine viel bessere. "Christian Collins, der Badboy der Schule, betrügt seine Langzeitfreundin".
