With the aftermath of the Star Trek Destiny series, Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets are in massive disarray. Starfleet itself has few ships left to defend the tattered fleet, the USS Voyager NCC 74065 herself is badly damaged with only one remaining warp nacelle. The starships USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E, USS Aventine NCC 82602, and USS Titan NCC 80102 are among the few ships still in active service and ready to defend the Federation. The only good news that the Federation can take greatness in is the fact that the Caeliar have erased the Borg from existence from the known universe, all that is left is Caeliar. The Caeliar have begun their new mission of finding and protecting cultures of peace and nonviolence so that perhaps someday in the distant future, the meek really can inherit the universe.
  
  With what Starfleet is hoping will be a new found peace for the entire Alpha, Beta and Gamma Quadrants, also brings about more despair. The past is now in danger of being destroyed. With the destruction of one ship all that was to be never existed. As the old Earth starship NX-02 Columbia gets ready to return to Earth orbit a scourge from the farthest off galaxy makes its move on the Milky Way and the entire Federation and its allies.

USS Enterprise (CV-6), a floating city of steel. After a stellar service career in World War 2. She was decommissioned in 1958. She's the only ship that earned 20 battle stars. And a presidential unit citation. In an alternate world war 2 timeline. She was called into action along with other ship girls to fight an alien race from another dimension called Sirens. They pushed away humanity from the high seas. Humanity formed an alliance called Azur Lane. The alliance consisted of all the major countries that fought each other during the second world war. Azur Lane was able to repulse the Sirens and brought back peace in the planet. At this point all of the ship girls returned to their normal state. Some went back to the very waters where they were sunk. Others became ship museums. The ones turned into museums were considered the lucky ones. But not for Enterprise. Her scrapping is inevitable. The fight for her to be turned into a ship museum failed. And majority of her steel was used to build USS Enterprise (CVN-65). But somehow her ship girl form suddenly resurfaces in a time when a ninth ship bearing her name has been successfully built and launched. She will also meet her daughter who was made from majority of her steel. Once again the Sirens threatened humanity in the present time. The ship girls from the past have been recalled back into action. Many of the nations thought that Enterprise will never be seen again. That was until she's seen serving as a member of the US Secret Service under a new name and identity. Will she go back to her original duties or will she remain working for the Secret Service? However, as soon as they land on the ground, the leader of the Ibhe Htua, Pedagogue Tuaste, tells them that they did a good job, but there's a lot to learn before they even have a hope of defeating Zarkon and his evil empire. Grudgingly, they accept her offer to train them. However, a new threat to the universe arises soon after they land on Toumia, one that is completely unrelated to Zarkon and the Galra Empire. One of the many societies on the planet with purple grass has developed a way to help the universe, but the Voltron Team knows that this will do anything but help the universe, and that they must stop it at all costs. Together, the five Paladins make up Voltron, Defender of the Universe. And what do defenders of the universe do? They defend it. * * * The timeline for this fanfiction within seasons 1-2 of VLD are unknown, for reasons that will be clear by the end of this particular fanfiction. As such, the characters will know how to do certain things, and not know other things. Because of this, there will be spoilers for some things but not others, and seeing as this happens somewhere within the spacetime between the episodes of seasons 1 and 2. It's weird. Hang with me, it'll all make sense by chapter sixteen. Maybe fifteen. I haven't written that far out yet. Now, a prisoner of the Uu'k'asht, her future is unknown and she doesn't know what the next day will bring. She thought they would kill her, publicly execute her, torture her. But the Uu'k'asht seem to have other plans. Ahnekk is just as surprised as anyone when one of the huge metal mech's his battalion is fighting spits out a diminutive, slime-covered creature, that then proceeds to continue killing on the battlefield despite being seemingly helpless. No one has ever actually seen a human before. Only their killing machines. But he does know one thing: This prisoner will turn the tides of war. This is a story that doesn't contribute at all the grander story of Zero... A lesser narrative that should have ended up withering away but instead abruptly became a full blown Narrative. Due to the abrupt nature of its appearance, the narrative was not able to completely acclimate to its "main" status internally, this only worsened the narratives Chronicle Structure Foundation (C.S.F), making it develop Chronicle Structure Instability (C.S.I), this caused the narrative to become extremely liable to Chronicle Structure Distortions (C.S.D) which could potentially lead to a Chronicle Structure Collapse (C.S.C). Its Ruin Foundation Value on the Archnarrative is C+ meaning it has a mostly even chance of spelling the destruction of many narratives beyond itself upon its collapse. It's time for special agent Zero to head in and investigate. "Servant... Caster... Deploying- WAIT THE FUCK? WHY AM I A CASTER?! OI! GIVE ME BACK MY FOREIGNER STATUS YOU CUN-" Ahem... Anyway. Continuing. This convoluted lore is just an excuse I made for fanservice. Writing my more lore heavy stories right now is harder because of my stress inducing circumstances. Ironic because I want to get away from heavy lore writing but made up all this fucking lore... Meh. I don't believe in consistency. Twenty years after the end of the Cyborg War, the last cyborgs try to hijack a starship on its way to terraform an alien world. They want the new colony to be a cyborg colony in which they will rebuild their strength and practice their way of life. During the fighting, though, the starship is damaged, so that instead of travelling light years across space it ends up a billion years in the future, alongside a planet Earth that is near the end of its life. The cyborgs, momentarily defeated, leave the ship in a captured landing craft and go down to the planet, but before they go they sabotage the ship so that it is no longer able to support life. The crew have no choice but to follow them down to the planet where they have to fight not just the cyborgs but also forms of life a billion years more evolved than humans. Creatures that have grown tough and hardy in an attempt to cope with the increasingly harsh conditions that prevail there. As if things weren't bad enough, there is conflict among the ship's crew as they fight to decide which of them will be in charge and how they will meet the challenges facing them, and even if they survive all this they will still have to deal with the discovery of the ultimate fate that awaits all intelligent life in the universe...

The novel started as a short story that was submitted to a writing contest (didn't win). It is very loosely based upon the Babylon 5 Universe (telepaths, shadows, plethora of different races, etc.). I still continued to think about the story and how it ended without a final resolution (though the story did have an ending, it left a lot of questions about the protagonist). Thanks to the obsession and compulsion I have with writing (it's a blessing and a curse) I decided to continue the story to final resolution. This is it. A race called the Chitoxan came from an unknown area of space and declared war on the races making up the Earth-Alliance. More technically advanced than the races they encounter, the overwhelming power of the shadow vessels results in most battles ending in complete defeat for the Earth-Alliance. Only by massing fire on an individual shadow vessel or, in extremely desperate situations, committing suicide with a ship's reactor overload, can a shadow vessel be defeated. Earth and Earth-alliance colonies are slowly being conquered and occupied by Chitoxa. The humans on these occupied colonies are enslaved and forced to serve the Chitoxan's every need. A young man volunteers for the Space Marines during the Chitoxan war. Upon induction, he discovers that he is 'blessed' with unique abilities. However, these abilities cause his life to be changed drastically and terribly. He is taken away and forced into a never-ending nightmare. After a quick and violent encounter between Earth and Chitoxa, another Earth fleet is beaten and is almost wiped out. The surviving ship gets a lucky shot at an attacking shadow vessel, slicing off one of its appendages. The pain and shock of the loss does something to the human controller of the battle crab....
