January 1st every year is the Ability Ceremony. As soon as kids reach the age of thirteen, they are scanned and their Ability is observed by the President of the United States. However, there is only one ability which is potentially lethal to the entire country; the Visionary ability. All Visionaries are terminated; until one escapes.

Valerie Frostwell and her brother Thomas will uncover the mystery of Paul Nightman, along with the dark truth of Washington City...
