Jerrick Bennington-Moore is Santa Rosa's foremost PI. Only, as Kate Mayer quickly finds out, PI doesn't only stand for private investigator. Normally, for him, P stands for paranormal and it definitely explains why Moore can't hold down an assistant. But Kate has never been one to give up easily and it turns out she has a distinct knack for dealing with ghosts. They seem to like her, even more than they like Moore, but her even her enigmatic employer doesn't know why and they spirits aren't talking. Yet.
However, Kate doesn't have time to worry about it, there are more important things to wonder about, such as just what Moore is up to behind her back.

His only chance to stop these evil forces is to get his recently revealed biological father, PETER, now a high priest and Keeper of Secrets in the Vatican, to kill for him. However, this seemingly impossible task becomes easier after an epic spirit battle between them. The possibility of Carter's spirit being stuck in his father's body wasn't exactly part of the plan to make his father ultimately pay for any part he played in the conspiracy and perhaps even in Carter's own murder.

Thanks to the technical genius of Penelope Garcia, they quickly find out who Isabel Ashe really is, and finding her becomes less of a challenge. They prepared for how they were going to tell Isabel Ashe that she was wanted by the FBI for reasons they didn't know. What they didn't prepare for was finding the girl riddled with psychosis, among other things. Yet, they decide to take a chance with her when they see she has amazing control over her psychosis. After all, who better to catch a psycho than a psycho?
