As one of the last humans on earth, Ciara O'Brien, lives a life of leisure in a human zoo called the Sanctuary. In exchange for living what was once called the American dream, she must fulfill her obligations to furthering what's left of the human race. This means mating - whenever and with whoever her caretakers tell her to. As her first genetic match presents himself, everything Ciara thought she knew about her life crumbles. She quickly realizes that she cannot bring herself to live the life set out for her. She decides to forfeit the comfort and security of the Sanctuary and sets off across a post-apocalyptic landscape in search of where a group of survivors are beginning to build a new civilization upon the ruins of an ancient city. Before Ciara can begin to live and love on her own terms, she's going to have to survive the journey.All Rights Reserved

It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
