Nyla Thompson is a college freshy from Cali on her way to New Jersey for her first semester at Rutgers University. She didn't leave much behind in California. No boyfriend. Not many friends.

This was a perfect target for Raymond Boyd, director of 36 different gangs, troubled past, and in need of love that only Nyla can provide for him, whether he wants to admit it or not. Raymond, not only eventually wants Nyla's love and affection, but wants to protect her from someone who would go to hell and back to kill Nyla.

So he and his friend Jordan took her far out to Upstate New York.

No matter how much she wants to hate Raymond and run at the sound of his voice, she knows he woudln't dare inflict pain on her.
