"I hate it when that happens." I turn and see Chase staring after the couple and then glance at me. "Pardon?" I cross my arms. "When your best friend leaves you completely at the mercy of good looking young men that you don't even know." He gives me a pity look that was fake. "It's a tragedy, really." Chase didn't recognize me? Had I really changed that much? I didn't think so. Before I can correct him and say that we already know each other, Justin saves the day. "Dude, that's Emma." Justin smacks Chase up the head. "Jeez, really?" Chase takes a closer look at me. "Shit, man. Stop studying her as if she had two heads." Justin pushes Chase to the side. This time, Chase pushes back. "Wow, I never knew she was so hot." We've all heard about 'the main character'. The type of person who lives through the most dramatic and improbable situations, and finds the kind of epic romance you only see in works of fiction. Which makes you think about how unrealistic love like that is. I used to think the same thing until I met him. Until I met 'the bad boy' that, as it turns out, wasn't that bad at all, just simply...a boy.
