Ryder's POV

I was running around the borders to get some fresh air and just to let off stress as an alpha.  Yep that is right, I'm alpha.  Alpha of the Red Moon pack just one of the top ten packs in the world and the best pack in North America.  I am also a respectable man, I plan on being the best mate I can be for my future mate and loving and loyal mate. 
But then I smelled this wonderful smell pine and orchid and I knew it could only come from my mate.  In wolf form I ran in that direction as fast as I could to find that a little kid was the source of the wonderful scent. 

What Ryder didn't know was that his mate was only a child.  He immediately knew that Penolope, a five year old human, was his mate.  Age difference was no problem due to slow aging trait all werewolves have, but  his mate was young, vulerable, and weak. Penolope was with a human family and provided little attention to her anyways.  Ryder had to do the unspeakable...
