Audrey and her daughter Katie,who is 5, relocate to another new town, after Audrey's abusive ex-husband Scott found them again. They have been divorced for 7 years, but Audrey won't date anyone, in fear they will turn out like Scott. Samuel and Christine have been divorced for 4 years, but they have a son who is also 5, named Jake. Christine had an affair, which led to the divorce. Samuel doesn't date anyone, instead he focuses all his time on Jake. But what happens when Jake and Katie end up in the same class and become close friends? Will Samuel and Audrey become friends? Or more than friends?
