"Agonizing pain exploded in my right shoulder and the edge of a blade poked through my skin just above my collarbone. I screamed. 

Turning my head was agony but I managed to see what (correction: who) was behind me. 

A hideous being stood behind me. It's skin was grey and black and its face was impossibly grotesque. It smelled horribly of decay and I wondered how I hadn't noticed before. 

The beast ripped it's rusty sword out of my shoulder and I collapsed. 

Then, a blonde, long-haired guy, sprinted up behind the ghoul and sliced it in half. 

The ghoul fell and disintegrated."
