"Now be a good girl and get onto the mandap with me" she stood up with shaky legs and I held her palm tightly. I pulled her into the mandap that the priest had already cleaned and prepared. She stood on the mandap. The priest began to chant the mantras but I stopped him. "Just get to the main part" I said and the priest sighed. We exchanged the Varmalas made out of lotuses and roses and I tied the thali around her neck. Tears shedded down her face and dropped down to her locket. I leaned down to whisper in her ears and said. "Save your tears for later sweetheart. You have your whole life for crying"
