The Light Stone Chronicles: Ascension is the first book of a trilogy. The gods and goddesses each rule one of six kingdoms. Seikatsu (head of all six) rules the Life Kingdom, Kasai rules the Fire Kingdom, Nami rules the Water Kingdom, Shizen rules the Nature Kingdom, Dendo rules the Electricity Kingdom and Jigoku rules the Underworld (or Death Kingdom). An ancient agreement between Seikatsu and Jigoku stated that neither of them could open the portal between the overworld and underworld, or else they'd be sent to the underworld to die (outside of the Death Kingdom boundaries). But suddenly, the portal began to form, and demon troops started attacking random nations, somehow crossing the seas to different lands. Although they didn't understand how Jigoku was forming it, they then found the legend that states of six children baring the ability to expand their soul power. Since none of the gods could put a stop to the tyrant themselves, they sent those six children by the age of 11 yrs old (including a duck from the Life Kingdom) to collect all twelve light stones in order to open the portal, and assassinate Jigoku. Sending young children was a wild gamble, but it was the god's last resort to saving innocent lives.

After a cataclysmic event caused by mysterious celestial orbs, the world is reshaped into a realm where magic, power, and survival intertwine. These orbs-divine relics that descend from the heavens-grant chosen humans supernatural abilities, turning them into "Takers." Humanity rebuilds amid chaos, birthing new kingdoms, currencies (crystal essence), and hierarchies of strength. Among the survivors is the Silvermist family, simple people living near a cemetery in the newly reborn Kingdom of Earth. Their peaceful life shatters when Gaia, the eldest daughter, is discovered to possess a rare orb. The kingdom forcibly takes her away, leaving her brother Garner vowing to rescue her. Driven by loss and anger, Garner ventures into the forbidden Unknown Forest, where mythical beasts, teleporting frogs, and flaming butterflies exist. There, he discovers a mysterious orb-his destiny. This orb, named Law, grants him godlike powers to alter natural laws themselves. But such power comes with pursuit-he becomes hunted by the kingdom. Saved by the enigmatic Queen of the Rose, Rosalia, Garner trains under her protection, learning to master Law while uncovering secrets about the world's origin, power hierarchy, and the shadowy organization known as The 12 Circles-a council of divine-class Takers that secretly governs global balance. As Garner grows stronger and meets Teresa, another prodigy of divine rank, he learns that his power may surpass even the gods'. Together, they begin a journey that will test their morality, loyalty, and destiny as forces beyond comprehension converge to control the fate of their world.
