This took a toll on Charlotte, leaving her to decide at age twelve to live with one parent. At this time she chose to live with her mother, her reason reason for this was simple; she gave birth to her. As Charlotte became older she realized that her mother couldn't survive on her own. Renee, Charlotte's mom, needed Charlotte more than she will ever know. Renee is so emotionally unstable that she cannot rationalize everyday situations. Charlotte provides stability for her mom even though her mother travels all around the country trying to find "the one".
