In a world where DNA manipulation in utero was discovered with the hope of stopping birth defects, one man takes it a step further. Now, not only are birth defects something parents can put behind them, now they are able to chose the physical traits they desire their child to have. What happens if the manipulation doesn't always work? How would the world react to another layer of prejudice, another class of people that trumped all classes? A world of Perfects where natives sought to find their place.
Lexus is the daughter of the scientist whose life is dedicated to the complete success of DNA manipulation at any cost. She is also her father's greatest failure because she, too, is a native.
Follow her in a world where DNA not only determined what one looked like, it determined who one could love.

We all know how fascinating biology is,indeed. My favourite stream of biology is Genetics. Whenever we hear the word DNA,the things that come to our mind is genes and nearly everyone knows what mutation is. The story deals with a single nucleotide mutation in the DNA that results into an extremely rare genetic disorder called " Proteus Syndrome " How does all these brought a significant change in the life of Steve(Protagonist) Read and find out. In a world where people can be born with a genetic mutation that gives them powers, surely you'd think everything would be like a comic book right? Well you'd be wrong. People born with this gene are called "Conduits", or Bio-terrorrists if your in the majority who hate them. Conduits are viewed as monsters who only bring evil to the world, and are captured by the "Department of Unified Protection" or "D.U.P" for short. The D.U.P takes these conduits to a prison known as Curden Cay Station and do God knows what to them. So you can imagine that finding out one day that you are one of these conduits would be an extremely bad situation to be in, and unfortunately for our freshly graduated main protagonist, he is about to find out just how dark this world can be. With the death of his lover at the hands of a conduit during their escape from the D.U.P, will our protagonist fall to his anger and seek vengeance for his lover's death? Or will he prevail and choose to be the better man in a world where the better people are at risk?

Wiithin this household held lots of secrets and she just couldn't take it anymore. Her mom was a druggie and an abuser. And that meant trouble. When her mother disappeared from the family life, her father met a woman and moved to Chicago. This was not something Evonne was waiting for. She definitely didn't like changes. Not when the step mom was kind of mean to her. When she met Caleb, her life changed into something she never thought would ever happen to her. Someone genuinely loved her, and it was a boy and she couldn't let this go by. But when hidden secrets get revealed only they can change them. Told in both POV.

They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. They turned me into something, that neither do they know what I am. Their afraid of me, of my reflexes, my strength. I killed a lot of them. They say I have a cold heart, that I don't feel nothing.
