Workplace Drama: My Ex is in Charge

17 parts Ongoing

Emma's luck has been in a downward spiral lately. She missed out on a promotion, had her dress ripped at the airport, got hit on while drinking, and ended up in a bar fight (which she mostly started!). Her best friend Grace suggested a quick fix: "Maybe a purple crystal bracelet will turn your luck around?" Emma joked, "Or maybe my ex will be begging to get back together tomorrow. Besides, those things are expensive!" But fate has a sense of humor, because that message? It accidentally got sent to her new boss, who just happens to be the ex in question-Owen. Owen's response: "Less daydreaming, more working." Not long after, Emma decides to give dating another try and starts seeing someone new. But after their first date, she finds herself blocked at her doorstep. Owen, leaning against her wall like he's running a board meeting, orders, "Break up with him." Emma scoffs, "And why exactly should I?" Owen, clearly thinking he's found the perfect reason, says, "His aura's off. The guy's bad luck for you." Thus begins their second-chance romance-a journey of reconnection, love, and the classic "chase," where the tables have turned, and this time, it's Owen who might just lose it all.
