Maisey Thompson is a strong-minded bookworm with a group of fun-loving friends.

At the beginning of her second last year of High School, her Legals teacher creates a seating plan that brings Maisey closer to Miles Costello - a bad boy who dates the cheerleaders and throws big house parties. At first she hates him, but is there more to him than what she thinks?

Also throw in another boy who ends up dating a best friend she's growing apart from!

In the meantime, Maisey and her family must deal with her father's abusive behaviour, which might point to more than a hot head.

Last year, all Maisey had to worry about was Pythagoras' Theorem and writing essays, but now she has bigger problems - her family, her friends, hot and cold boys, and who she wants to do her Formal with.

By the end of the semester, Maisey needs to work these things out, but will she be able to do it without ruining everything first?

Probably not.

"This seemingly cliche book might actually take a turn of the unexpected." - John Green

Growing up in a toxic environment, sixteen-year-old Jay Foster has always had psychological problems, coupled with a quick temper. But one night something happens which finally pushes him over the edge, and as a result, he leaves his house the next morning with two things: his mother's gun and a plan. Living with a neglectful and drug addicted mother wasn't easy for Jay, and it definitely didn't help that his father abandoned the family while he was still a child. He harbored a hatred toward his parents, and that hatred extended to almost everyone and everything around him, producing a very troubled and damaged young kid. As Jay enters high school, he becomes very intrigued with one of his classmates. Kind of obsessed, actually. Her name: Mikayla Keeler. Mikayla is very unique, and like Jay, she doesn't seem to fit in with her contemporaries. Instead, the two of them keep each other company, and their friendship very quickly escalates into a romantic and intimate relationship. Despite having Mikayla, Jay's troubles continue to burden him. He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school. With everything seemingly piling up, Jay is very close to his breaking point, and late one night he is blindsided by the unthinkable, pushing him much too far and effectively planting in his mind a cruel and horrific plan for revenge.

"Nate smith is the total opposite of the "good guy" he's cocky and arrogant said Emilia, I don't understand how someone could be so..so stupid and self conscious.. he pisses me off so much and to think I would ever like him is far from it..." "oh Emilia? Yeah she's something.. good something? idk about that but definitely something.. Nate exclaimed, shes spunky and has a sharp tongue that could kill someone's ego so fast..I like that about her.. but let's be honest she's kinda crazy sometimes. Living next to her All these years will give you insight on things other people don't see. Either way, I like her she's you could say different.." _____________________________________________ In the bustling halls of Fairview High School, where gossip flowed like a never-ending river, there was no pair more infamous than Nate Smith and Emilia Thompson. They lived next door to each other, yet their animosity was as thick as the wall separating their bedrooms. Nate, a 17-year-old baseball star with a heartbreaker smile, basked in the glory of popularity. He was the hero of Friday night games and the center of attention at every party. Emilia, on the other hand, was a 16-year-old bookworm with a penchant for drama. She was content with her small circle of friends and the worlds she found within the pages of her beloved novels. Their paths collided daily at school, where Nate's cocky swagger and Emilia's disdainful eye rolls were the stuff of legend. Nate always had to tease Emilia while Emilia put up with his annoyance up until she was done.. But behind closed doors, the neighbors' lives were more intertwined than they'd ever admit. Late at night, they'd hear the faint sounds of Nate practicing his pitches in the backyard, while Emilia immersed herself in the words of classic plays. And unbeknownst to either of them, those shared walls witnessed moments of vulnerability that neither cared to admit. Ps: it's dual POV!!
