Nine Stars

“Nine Stars” is a short story written by Alyloony in Wattpad. The short story is about a girl who is counting nine stars because she believed that her wish will come true if she counted nine stars every night within nine days.

One night, while she was in her favorite coffee shop, someone asked her if he can share a table with her because the shop is full. She found out that the guy’s name was Chim Rodriguez – the reason why she is counting stars. They talked and talked until she found out that they have the same interests especially when it comes to reading books. It became their daily routine coming to the coffee shop and she was slowly falling in love with Chim.

When it is already dark, she went to the coffee shop and counted nine stars. It is her second night in counting stars. She said to herself that when she finished counting nine stars within nine nights, she wishes that “Gusto kong maging kami. Sana maging kami.” Many nights have passed. Chim have something to tell her. She was very excited but she ended up hurting because Chim asked her to help him in courting Karen. She was very hurt but she has nothing to do about it. She continued counting stars until the ninth night came. She was counting stars “one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight…” and her tears starts to drop because of the pain she feels. She was surprised because someone tapped his shoulder, “Uy miss?” she turned around and saw an unfamiliar face. But he knew Claire because they were neighbors. His name was Lewis. He is wearing a shirt with a star and there she counted “nine.”

The story is very beautiful. I learned that God has plans for you. Everything has a purpose. You just need to wait and trust Him.
