Stacy has gone her whole life being surrounded by eccentric human beings. Her mother, Gwen, is a single mother, who chose her name after Spiderman’s original girlfriend thereby killing any potential interest Stacy had in comics. The fact that her mother also works as the school’s drama teacher and is literally ‘Stacy’s mom’ has plagued her throughout her high school career. Her best friend Johanna has severe emotional problems, which, she claims came along with her supernatural intelligence. Her other friend, Penelope, is a two-faced back-stabber that insists on tagging along with them whenever she has nowhere better to go. Johanna and Stacy can’t deal with Penelope’s antics any longer but can’t do anything about it without causing a real-life drama to break out. In fact Stacy knows that the only reason she has made it to her senior year is because of a recurring dream she has about a boy named Nathanial “Scott” Lewis. Whenever she dreams about him she feels safe, secure and most of all happy. He is her escape from her hectic schedule. She has literally fallen for a dream boy. However will Stacy finally learn to live in reality when her mother forces her to act as assistant-director for this year’s school production? Will she finally find something worth living for or will she forever play in her dreams?
