A prophecy. A kingdom doused in darkness. A missing heir. Maya has had enough of acting slave towards King Zafar. Her hands red and raw from the scrubbing, she refused to accept that her life was aiming towards nothing except fulfilling the selfish and pathetic desires of a man who claimed the kingdom. The emblem emblazoned on the palm of her hand only reduced her to possession and property and she despised it. But something has come up. A new-found prophecy. Has the oracle finally revealed something that could shed light on the castle that's been destined to a fate of rot and demonic prevalence? The discovery of an heir - an heir that's supposed to be diminished with the bright embers that executed his siblings and parents - leaves the castle in a riot. Can the kingdom finally surface from the dark abyss it has drowned it. Can Maya finally roam free in a province her ancestors once inhabited with good spirit? Or will King Zafar's demons catch up to bury the prophecy and assassinate any hope for the Kingdom's survival?

"Beauty can be a blessing or a Curse. Those who hold faith in destiny, true love, and soulmates possess a unique luck: the ability to still see the world through hopeful, imaginative eyes. While others find love, my beauty has been a barrier to genuine connection; I yearn to finally hope, dream, and love like everyone else" Life was never easy for Maya, who was abandoned by her birth parents as an infant and left to wonder why. She had no family besides her uncle, a caring man who rescued her from an orphanage when she was ten. He has been her only friend and mentor ever since. Her world shifted in junior high, transforming a good life into a living hell. Ever since, Maya has been plagued by anxiety and an inability to trust. She focuses entirely on evading unwanted attention and the horror it brings. She is left questioning if she can ever truly defend herself, escape the cruel world, and secure her own future.
