The voices that haunted my head, the ones that always seemed to be there, again bombarded me with doubts and indecision. Again, my panic caused me to second-guess myself, and my fear of crowds took over. I started hyperventilating. Somewhere, in some other world, I could hear my father asking me if I was okay. But I wasn't. I was nowhere close to okay. I fell to the floor, curled up in a ball, and listened to the voices. "They will never accept you." "You're a freak! Do you really think they'll want to be your friend?" "Remember the fire at the last school? The one that you caused?" "Remember the smoke? The screaming?" "The scars should remind you that you shouldn't be here." I spiraled into uncontrollable panic and passed out, right there on the floor.

IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. I can't focus on anything. IT looks at me, IT's eyes are all gray. IT smirks and stands all of the way up, towering over me. I pull myself up and wobble away from IT on unsteady feet. I look back to see IT laughing, watching me walk away. I can't hear her terrible laughter, and I don't want... to... I fall over, feeling woozy. My head spins and I sway as I try to stand. I look back again, to see that the fog has covered my path, and I can only see a couple of inches away from my face. I blow out air and fall over. * * * * 13 year old Colten, takes a shortcut through the field next to his house on his way home. But why can't he reach his destination?
