For Dogsssake!!!

I don’t know why, but I am having a kind of premonition since morning. There is this gut feeling deep within, that something is going to happen. I’ve never felt this way before.
“God, what’s it going to be now?” I sit brooding under the dining table, my favourite haunt, waiting for the unexpected. Romi has been busy since morning – not with the usual stuff though. I can see her moving in and out of the bedroom making that awful screeching noise while dragging along her travelling bag every time she crosses the dining room. “After all, what is she up to?” I wonder. And then I see her pulling out my puppy bag from my cubbyhole. She slowly starts stuffing it with my things - a dog pad, bag of toys, brand new tennis balls, my feeding bowl, and a sealed letter. “Why, why why?” my mind yelps. “Are we going on a trip?” As much as I hate those long drives I also dread being left behind. So I relent the proposition half-heartedly.
At lunch I am given a sumptuous meal of my favourite rice and fish with a dash of thick yogurt. “Why are they pampering me so much?” What is so special about today? When the clock strikes four in the afternoon they decide to drop the bombshell on me.
