Utopia. The perfect world. Or at least, that's how the Caelestis, a group of power hungry moneymakers who call themselves a government, see it. But for Talon and Ember it is anything but. Worthless animals, filthy nothings, thieving rats, that is who they are. Fighting for a daily meal, choosing between life or death, balancing on the knife edge of survival, that is their world. Because they are Maculans. And they are the underbelly of society. Until the day they turn twelve. Then they are sold as slaves, forever serving the tyrants.
Asher. A spoiled kid living in the Perfect world. The son of Falcon Everson, a member of the Caelestis, his life is one of glamour and wealth. But although it looks wonderful on the outside, on the inside it is far from that. Loneliness. Solitude. Boredom. Spoilt beyond necessity. A lonely prince overloaded with wealth. For Asher, there was always something else. Something missing. A friend.
Saffron's short life has been one of sorrow and tragedy. A Maculan, a failure, cast aside from civilisation, scorned upon by even the most humble. The lowest of low. Then when the only person who ever loved her is killed, Saffron decides to give herself up. After all, surely she is nothing more then a drop in the ocean? And no one can possibly care for her now, can they?
By twists of fate and a bit of luck, these four children are thrust together, putting their necks on the line in order to survive. But as time goes on they become firm friends and discover that anyone can change the world. So long as you have the will.

When Time Meets Destiny
Ryan Clark is a boy born with a destiny, yet knows nothing about it. He is sickly throughout his childhood but finds his suffering and life experiences define his character.
