We were the same - orphaned, hated, scorned, abandoned... always some kind of monster in their eyes - and yet you were always so... you never let them break you. You didn't give up on them like I did. I gave up - gave up living in that same light as you. I became a shadow - what choice did I have? And now you want me to walk down the same path as you? Baka... do you know what happens when a shadow gets thrown into the very light it shunned? You weren't my first light... and I can't afford to lose another, Naruto.

I, Amarante Riku, was meant to be a shadow, a protector. I was never meant to walk down the same path as him - just watch him, protect him, stay as close as I can without actually... *sigh* I hate how you make me human - how you remind me that I can fail...
