Because everyone knows that the higher the power, the higher the price. They're considered part of the Elite, just humans with unique powers who live moderately normal lives despite how un-normal their powers are. They don't fight crime. They don't rule the world. They lay low and keep it together. Recently, Leander and Felix have been having a cruddy time keeping it together. Leander has the rare ability of clairvoyance, but for some... remarkably insightful reasons, he really wishes he didn't. Felix is a telepath, to put it broadly, and he's been taking a three-year long guilt trip, minus the rest stops and the suspicious gas stations. Together, they have an advantage, because they're best friends and they have each others' backs. Until things start going wrong and the list gets longer, one by one. They're being tailed... by the other Elite? Leander's price just keeps growing- How in heck is Felix supposed to stop it? How exactly do two twenty-one-year-olds manage a hydrokinetic kindergartner? And, oh yeah, does Felix really think he can just continue that guilt-trip, whatever it is he's been guilt-tripping about? Things just get worse from there. And the two start to think that maybe... they're just paying the price.

Nobody expects something supernatural to happen to them. Those kind of things only happened in comics. Fairy Tales. Unrealistic dreams that you'd fall asleep to, silently wishing for them to come true. At least, that was what these three teenagers thought. It turns out that there is so much more to their simple universe than they ever could have imagined. After each finding a strange alien artifact, the teens are suddenly thrusted into an intergalactic war. Alien species everywhere are trying to hunt down the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. And they are the ones in possession of it. When they run into a girl that claims to be from another planet, the three kids learn about the power given to them and the responsibilities that come along with it. Instantly, they are the most popular people in the galaxy. And for once, popularity couldn't feel more like a curse. Fighting grudges, fear, and distrust, the Chosen humans must travel to the one place on Earth where they might be safe. And with strange new powers, the teenagers struggle to live in the unfamiliar world they thought they knew so well.
