The Giant War is won, and everyone has gathered (including a few Roman ambassadors, part of a new program to promote peace between the camps) at Camp Half-Blood for the fireworks show.  The only drawback? Leo isn't here to celebrate with them.

Percy and Annabeth are incredibly happy.  They survived a second war, they've got time together, and are planning for college in New Rome.

Jason and Piper are doing okay.  Aside from the still-lingering sadness of having lost Leo, the two of them are going strong, and Thalia has accepted Piper into the family.

Hazel and Frank missed their friends.  They came to Camp Half-Blood, though, for a Fourth of July visit.

Nico and Will are finally together.  After meddling from the Aphrodite cabin, they (somewhat begrudgingly) admitted their feelings.

They must go to the newly discovered Roman camp, pick up three other demigods, begin the quest to Rome, lose some team members in Tartaurs, close the Doors of Death, and inevitably wake Gaea. Sounds fun, right? Wrong. The diety Apate seems to want things to go her way. In doing so, pain is multiplied, and Livana is forced into her suffering. (Story cover by myself)

But if she was right, that would be a deadly mistake. Annabeth turned back to Jason. "You sold us out didn't you." "There's only one way to end the schism, Annabeth," Jason said. His remaining eye gleamed. "The Greeks must be wiped out." Reyna raised her hand. "Seize them." "Jason!" Piper cried as two legionaries grabbed her arms. "How could you!" Annabeth grit her teeth but didn't struggle. They couldn't win this fight. And the worst part? She totally saw it coming. This is an au where Jason turns the Greeks over to the Romans instead of cooperating, and the resulting conflict ensues. Can the Greeks and Romans work together? Or will they both be torn apart in the end. Calypso is summoned to Olympus, and is required to work for Hermes for two months as payment for her freedom, though that job comes with constantly being busy, so Leo can help but feel lonely. Even his friends had become too busy, Percy and Annabeth were busy with online school which they have been able to do from camp, Piper and Jason had become too lovey dovey (as Leo said) and Leo just felt like a third wheel. He couldn't iris message Frank to annoy him, since his job as Praetor kept him busy, and he tried to spend whatever free time he had with Hazel. speaking of Hazel, Leo couldn't speak with her either since she was either helping Frank with Praeter stuff, hanging out with Frank or kissing Frank. So with all the feelings of neglect, Leo slips back into his old habits and runs...runs away from everyone.
