One bright sunny day, Mikoto Misaka and her cousin Shino Asada decided to meet their friends Kazuto and Asuna at a diner in Academy City. While there, they are attacked by a mysterious magician named Vento of The Front, who gives them a cryptic warning about something called Alicization.. moments after avoiding the attack.. Kirito is assaulted by a former member of Laughing Coffin who took part in the Death Gun incident. In a heated moment, Mikoto jumps in front of Kirito.. taking a  needle full of drugs to the chest.. in a frantic attempt to save her, both Kazuto and Shino end up drugged as well.. and Asuna is left frantically calling paramedics as her 3 friends begin to slowly slip away..

A whole new world is then opened up.. a new virtual world.. known as the Underworld..

In the meantime, Asuna and Accelerator have both logged into the Underworld. Haruyuki in the future along with his friends, fervent to keep his promise to Mikoto, tries to figure out what happened to her and maybe find his friend from the past. The Underworld's story is slowly coming to a close.. and a new story is yet to begin.

An experiment which once again centers around the Railgun herself. Meanwhile, Accelerator and Touma Kamijou find themselves working with a man called Jellal. Their mission, to find the spies from Hydra Head who have supposedly infiltrated the games. But as they investigate further, they find themselves sinking deeper and deeper into a mud hole even a Wizard Saint can't crawl out of.

Mikoto and her friends Natsu and Lucy are walking home after a long day of school to their house at the edge of the beach. They all have one thing in common....they can't remember who they are, or where they came from....each of them having washed up on the beach one day six months ago only to be found by the school principle Elliot Dreyar. One day, Mikoto finds strange images flying through her head....and two names she can't get out of her head......Touma Kamijou....and Fairy Tail. And if that isn't enough, two men by the names of Gajeel Redfox and Stiyl Magnus appear in town to tell her not to trust anything the highschool has to say. Things then start to get more confusing as strange people in kimonos calling themselves Soul Reapers attempt to capture Mikoto, Natsu, and Lucy, saying that they now know too much and must have their minds wiped............Now if Mikoto wishes to protect her friends and discover who she truly is....she must reawaken both the esper and Dragon Slayer power that has been sleeping within her.......or Yugami town might become an everlasting prison. Mikoto Misaka is the third strongest Esper out of that 2.1 billion that dwell in Academy City, being also a prestigious student at the most high class all girl's school in the entire world. Naturally, having such high powers, she has faced many weird phenomenon within the city known for the weird and scientifically advanced. However.. her knowledge about the universe is challenged when she meets a particularly weak esper named Ben Tennyson, whose been living on the streets because he couldn't afford the dorm. And as Mikoto will soon discover.. Ben's true powers.. completely unrelated to his esper ones... are quite out of this world...literally.. Then.. six mysterious beings appear in Academy City, calling themselves the Lost Ones. 3 of them, are beings called Quincies... 2 of them are magicians.. and one is a Level 5 esper long forgotten. They seem to have a vested interest in helping to restore Mikoto's lost powers... however, what do they have to gain from helping her? There is something more to this.. and like it or not.. Mikoto has once again sunken into a battle that she might not come out of...
