It's been nearly nine years since the vampires first attacked. Now Audrey and her two friends (well, with one who's more than a friend) could be the last humans on earth, the rest dead or Turned. The world is filled with vampires forced to feed on animal blood, with no government or cities. Audrey's little group can barely survive, but somehow, they do.

One night, everything changes, and Audrey is left truly alone. Or so she thinks. She is being Stalked by a vampire hiding in the shadows. She can do nothing until he comes out for his next attack. She expects death to come soon.... Then she's rescued by a mysterious guy named Alec. He takes her to his clan, and she feels safe, for the first time she can remember.
