Summer's are hot down on the beaches of southern Georgie. Kayle Royal knows this, living her entire life on the small shores of Tybee Island. Kayle now finds herself on the brink of her senior year of high school and absolutly nothing to show for it. She's never once been kissed by a boy other than her kid brother Jacob or her father. She hasn't done anything you'd call dangerous and dosen't want to be known as a "delinquant." Soon Kayle relizes that maybe she's been running away from something her entire life, herself.

Kayle needs something or maybe someone to make this summer special, worth remembering. She makes a list of things she wants to get accompished with her best friend Lily Johnson before the clock stricks midnight on the last day of summer. Love, parties, boys, friendships, finding yourself, and heartbreak. Isn't that what a summer of firsts is supposed to be about?
