It's a story many of us have heard before... A war... 2 combatting sides... 2 different religions and ideologies fighting in a big, vicious bloodshed.
This story shows Abdullah Al Shaheen and his unit of plucky Lebanese commandos being sent to fight one of the most advanced, modern and highly trained commando forces on earth in an assault on a barbaric, vengeful siege of an airliner packed full of passengers. The Lebanese commandos are outnumbered by their better trained adversaries.
Will Arab nationalism, bravery and pride conquer the battlefield and bring victory to them or will the sheer advantages of the enemy provide them and their country a catastrophic loss that will never be recovered from?
(This mission is not a real mission and never happened in real life to my knowledge. However, the war which this mission was a part of was a real war (the 2008 Lebanese war)).

In September 2000 events in Israel had a big effect on my life. For the next few years Israel was targeted by scores of Palestinian suicide bombers who detonated deadly suicide belts packed with not only explosives but also schrapnel. There was no way of knowing when the next one would strike, be it on buses, cafes, restaurants or wherever crowds of people congretated. On June 1st a bomb struck a crowd of youngsters outside a disco in Tel Aviv. One young girl who lay injured told the paramedic "we shall not stop dancing". For some reason I still remembered those brave words years later. It was then that I decided to write a book about a fictional bombing in Tel Aviv. One of the biggest reasons for this was not generated by any political belief but to specifically show that despite everything that was thrown at them Israelis simply carried on living their lives. The book title comes from the brave words of the injured young girl. It will take you through just another regular day of 12 very different people, most of them unaware that it will be their last day.Complete
