Single, witch mother Teresa lives in the dimensional- open country plain. The open country of Lancaster is peaceful and undisturbed by any people besides animals or magical beasts. 

She raises her teenage daughter Hexica. Not the best name for her Daughter; but when you have a crazy grandfather who won't stop the crazy experiments, these two have to clean up the mess with a touch of magic. Taking perspective of the Mother-daughter duo we see how the beginning of the war affects their lives. 

Not only that, they both get surprised when 2 witness protection clients appear at their doorstep.
