Hi there, I've just been playing around with the idea of Victorian historical fiction so I decided to write a Victorian story! It's about a young woman named Edith Owen and when her mother is out of work she must find a job as a servant in the home of the new lord, Lord Cornelius Tessington. However Tessington is somewhat of an...eccentric. The sort of man who is gossiped about at every part. Mad to many, everyine assumes there's not a thing that can bother this young lord. But can Edith look past the boyish nature and odd lifestyle to find something other than charm and wit deep down inside? Filled with jealousy, determination and the witty words of Cornelius Tessington I hope you enjoy! Please Read and Review!

Finn has an honourable position; personal servant to the monarch of Cafi, a small country off the coast of France. He also has not-so-honourable a position; a man in love with another man, in the early 1800s. Oliver is being forced towards marriage, and Finn is being forced towards accepting his love is unrequited. As France begins to fall into another revolution, the world begins unravelling around them. Oliver has to fight to maintain the democracy he established, and Finn must cope with the reawakening of his less-than-ideal past as a con artist in the search for his long-lost brother. The two must learn who to trust and who not to trust as they begin to know each other more deeply than they every thought they could. Content Warnings Applicable to This Story: This book is set in the early 1800s, and I don't want to avoid talking about the horrendous things that happened to people of colour then. It will talk about slavery, but from a firm anti-slavery perspective, never glorifying or making excuses for it. Cafi itself is a fictional country and while I absolutely believe they would have had slave trade too (because most places did and I don't want to pretend they didn't), I want the book to include Oliver's fight to abolish slavery in his country. Otherwise, there may be previous mentions of abuse, but it will be extremely mild, nothing graphic, and the chapter itself will pre-warn you. Oliver's relationship with his family can be problematic at times. Please take care of yourself during any chapters that may be triggering for you.

Gossip is rife in Bridbydale when the Bonners arrive in the village. Amongst other mysteries, the central one perplexing the villagers most is "Has anyone actually seen Mrs Bonner?". An unnamed visitor seems the unlikeliest to learn the truth, but he is the unwitting recipient of just that from Mr Bonner himself, who unburdens himself of the history of how he came to be in the village and the tale of the mysterious woman who accompanied him. From ruralest Yorkshire to London and back again, this long short story hopes to tempt those interested in the macabre, the fantastical and the unsettling. I'm trying to play with the idea of ingrained misogyny and the lessons we fail to learn at various stages in our treatment of women. --- If you're interested... BEHIND THE SCENES! Writing is a process, and in this work I had one specific goal: write a short story. It's something I haven't done since I was in seventh grade, and I wanted to see if I could do it. Things ended up much longer than I anticipated. I like the beginning frame story, but it's perhaps too long and I don't know how well it sits with the rest. Because I hate to name characters, the middle is more of a muddle in places. Even though it's brief, I found that the story in my head still moved me, especially towards the end as Ardea's fate becomes clear. I'm not sure how well what was in my head translated to the page, but still I am proud of it even if it really could do with some polishing. After seeing how long this story ended up, I wrote a short riff on it called "Naturans | Naturata" (also on WattPad) to see if I could economise. The two stories ended up quite different, although they do share some plot points and prose. There may be a third version in the future if I can find the right balance between the stories and what I really want to say. Feedback is always welcome!

[A/N]: Hey guys! Before I post this story, I was going to give a little insight. A very good friend of mine and I decided to write this book, and what better way to recieve constructive critcism than to share with everyone here on wattpad? I'm proud to say that we're nearly finished with it, around three to five more chapters need to be written. However, I will gladly post two chapters a week. Depending on the length, I could possibly split each chapter in two. Enjoy! -Skye & Jasmine My attempts to sleep failed miserably as realization hit me. Tonight was my last night unattached to someone. I swung my legs to one side of the bed. My bare feet brushed the cold floor and sent shivers up my spine. Scotland is much warmer this time of year. I took a few steps toward the window, but before I got too far I heard chatter just outside my door. "She’ll never be happy with him." The first voice, a female, was barely audible. "She could be. She’s just upset about Benjamin." A second voice, a man, replied to the woman. "She’ll never love Derick." A hint of anger played beneath the surface of the woman’s voice. I lay back down after that, so much for Emma accepting our marriage. Unhappiness coursed through my body and I became furious. I’d never love Emma either; with that I went to sleep. I dreamt of my mother singing in the castle, her voice was loud and demanding. Her words flowed so freely from her mouth and danced playfully down the halls. She was in the throne room singing to my father just as she always did. Her song was about the way she learned to love my father. Most marriages in Scotland are arranged, and due to our beliefs they have to work out. My mother had always been so madly in love with my father, but he was hesitant because he had to leave the woman he loved so dearly. So he let her go…

Edmund Westworth (26), the third Earl of Beaumont, and the most eligible bachelor in London, unknowingly started a tradition he now regrets. At age twenty-two he danced the first dance at the season opening ball at Almack's with a young lady who became the toast of the season. The next year he did the same. Every year since, he has danced one dance, to fulfill his mother's requirement. And every year his dance partner becomes the most sought after girl of the season. Some think he has a gift, Edmund thinks he could pick any girl and 'the ton' would deem her desirable based on his dance alone. His friends disagree and bet him 100£ to choose a dance partner who couldn't possibly entice the gentlemen of London. When her father suddenly passes away, Elizabeth Cavendish (20) has to move in with her aunt's family. With the estate entailed, Elizabeth needs to find a husband quickly or her aunt will install her into a governess or lady's companion position, which would severely hinder Beth's ability to work on her scientific experiments. Garbed in her cousin's horrific dresses from last season, she only has a few weeks to find a husband before she is doomed to tedious work for the rest of her life. She finds an unlikely accomplice in the Earl of Beaumont. Please don't copy any part of my story in any form (including Youtube) without my permission.
