Hi there, I've just been playing around with the idea of Victorian historical fiction so I decided to write a Victorian story! It's about a young woman named Edith Owen and when her mother is out of work she must find a job as a servant in the home of the new lord, Lord Cornelius Tessington. However Tessington is somewhat of an...eccentric. The sort of man who is gossiped about at every part. Mad to many, everyine assumes there's not a thing that can bother this young lord. But can Edith look past the boyish nature and odd lifestyle to find something other than charm and wit deep down inside? Filled with jealousy, determination and the witty words of Cornelius Tessington I hope you enjoy! Please Read and Review!

* THIS IS A COPYRIGHTED STORY OF MINE, MIDNIGHT_LILAC, PUBLISHED ON WATTPAD. IF YOU FIND IT ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE, IT HAS BEEN COPIED/REPUBLISHED WITHOUT MY CONSENT AND YOU ARE LIKELY AT A RISK OF A MALWARE ATTACK. IF YOU WISH TO READ THIS STORY IN ITS ORIGINAL, SAFE FORM, PLEASE GO TO WATTPAD * From a life of pleasant luxury and heart racing adventure, Yukihara Izumi is unexpectedly thrown into a world of poisonous malice and turmoil. For a not-so-average teenage girl of the modern world, fighting and shady work aren't all that new or surprising. However, similar situations in the Feudal Era are ruthlessly torturous, battering and definitely something anyone would wish to never experience, not even one as steadfast as Izumi. But she soon settles into the rough life with the Feudal Capital's downtown civilians. Not so surprisingly, things aren't always as simple as they seem to be and don't remain so forever either. It took just one unexpected encounter with an unexpected stranger in dire need of help to turn Izumi's life upside down. Dragged into the dark depths of lies, insidious plots and dangerous people in a place where nothing is what it appears to be, it is purely survival of the fittest. The coldest, cruellest and most merciless Emperor to have ever dictated the Empire is not the only one she has to face but also his vicious and obscure vassals that have an eagle's eye on her every move. It has always been easy for Izumi to keep up her inherent strength and determination no matter how dire the situation and that's what she plans on doing even after being thrown into a world of mayhem. But perhaps things can get a lot more complicated and out of hand when deeper emotions are involved - curiosity, deadly desire and suffocating possessiveness. ~~~~~~~~~~ ORIGINAL STORY, PLOT AND CHARACTERS (C) Midnight_Lilac

Lily Harper, a 17-year-old girl living in modern-day London, is a history enthusiast obsessed with all things Medieval. From her wardrobe filled with flowing dresses reminiscent of the Middle Ages to her bedroom decorated with tapestries and old manuscripts, she feels a deep connection to the past. At school, she's considered quirky, even eccentric, but she finds solace in the ancient world, often losing herself in books and documentaries about castles, knights, and courtly intrigue. One night, Lily has an unusually vivid dream-a dark figure in a cloak whispers her name, beckoning her into the shadows. She awakens to find herself not in her cozy bedroom but in a stone chamber lit by flickering torches. She quickly realizes this is no dream: Lily has been inexplicably transported back to the 12th century. Thrown into a foreign world, Lily must navigate the harsh realities of Medieval life: strict social hierarchies, superstition, and the looming threat of war. Her modern knowledge and ideas often clash with the time period's beliefs, making her a target for suspicion, especially when she uses her understanding of basic science, medicine, and strategy to solve problems. The local villagers believe she's a witch, and Lily must tread carefully to avoid persecution. As she seeks a way back to her time, Lily becomes entangled in the lives of those around her. She befriends *Sir William*, a noble yet conflicted knight torn between his duty and his own moral compass, and *Elinor*, a young woman who dreams of breaking free from the oppressive societal norms imposed on her. Together, they uncover a plot that threatens not only the kingdom but also the very fabric of time itself. Lily discovers that she was brought to this era by a mysterious group of sorcerers who believe she holds the key to unlocking a powerful ancient artifact capable of controlling time. Torn between wanting to return home and protecting the people she's grown to care about, Lily faces a powerful Foe

It has been ten years since Amelia was adopted by Lord and Lady Baldwin, and publicly recognized as a member of the Nobility. Now it is time for her to step out into high society and be recognized as something completely different- a debutante. A young woman now eligible for marriage. Amelia has never quite fit into the world of high-society. Having been born into poverty and adopted as a child, it has always seemed to her that she is the black sheep of the bunch. 'Ladylike' has never been a word that she would use to describe herself. She has never viewed herself as the marriageable-type, and has never found herself to care much for the idea of courtships. And yet, in the tangles of 19th Century London, a young lady has no choice. After all, Amelia's elder sister- the perfect daughter, with golden curls and a flawless face- has already secured an Earl to court. The two of them do not care much for each other, but love is not what matters. It is all about status and tradition. But in a world where it is unheard of for a woman to marry for love, Amelia soon discovers that her own happily ever after may not be as impossible as she though. But why is it the Earl's eyes that keep drawing Amelia in? And what if the rules surrounding the strict and formal courtships are rules that Amelia simply does not want to follow? After all, she has never been much of a Lady. ***Stand-alone sequel to Pauper Princess- though suggested, you do not have to read the first book to understand this one***
