Derek Shepherd has been head of neurosurgery at Seattle Grace for a year now but he's still the new lonely surgeon who is only there to work. Meredith struggles to pass Med School's first year while she meets a professor unwilling to accept that she's got personal problems. Left with unwillingness, she has no choice but to do favors for her professor. This is... until it becomes real. Too real.

For years now, it had just been Derek and his daughter. But then he met Meredith. In that moment everything changed for him but he told himself that he would never act on his feelings. His daughter was already without a mother so he told himself that he would always put her first, no matter what. But what would happen when his daughter picks up on his feelings and starts to interfere?

Meredith and Derek met by chance or so they thought. They came into each other's life when they least expected but life has a funny way of telling people what they need before they truly know they needed it. Even if it means bringing someone into their lives who was going to change it for the better.

Imagine meeting the love of your life and planning out how you was going to spend the rest of your life together. But one fatal night ripped that all away from you, leaving you scared and alone. This is the new normal for Meredith, learning to live without Derek. She was certain she wasn't going to make it but life gave her a new purpose.

Meredith Grey is a new Elementary teacher who just moved to Seattle, she works at Seattle Grace Elementary. Derek is a Neurosurgeon and works at Seattle Grace Memorial Hospital. Derek's a father of two kids, one boy, and one girl. his son is eleven years old and his youngest daughter is six. Meredith is Derek's daughter's teacher but she also helps the older kids who are having trouble with school work more than others because the younger ones get out of school earlier then the others.
